Worked on an In-house Design System

Using React and Material Design.

I contributed to designing components for OCLC's Design System.

These components were used to redevelop existing interfaces, enhance usability and performance, uphold accessibility requirements, and optimize navigation structure, page layouts, database tables, forms, and information architecture. â€‹

My contributions included pagination, data grids, text fields, and iconography design.

Project Management

SchoolWise

I managed this small but significant project—a library portal for school-age students in the Netherlands. I worked with Project Analysts, Developers, and Architects.

I was responsible for re-designing an existing product.

The stakeholders wanted something inclusive to kids with a new bright color palette. The product also needed to be rewritten. The developers and I met to discuss possibilities using existing code with out-of-the-box solutions.

With those requirements in mind, we designed and developed fun, accessible UI options for users to navigate, organize, chat, browse, discover, and read!

I used Figma to produce prototypes, graphics, iconography, and web architecture. I led design iterations and discussed feedback from Stakeholders, implementing something new every week.

What people I worked with have to say!

"I loved working with Gina! Together we went through the feature, what it needs to do and how it should look. After discussing her mock-ups with the clients I went back with their feedback and Gina and I improved the feature so it really will work in the way clients need it to work. Working with Gina was a great cooperation. Together we thought of a lot of important points and were able to satisfy the customer."

Franklin County

Franklin County Website Modernization Project: 2015-2019

I was the Web Design Lead on this project. Together, with developers, project managers, and agency representatives, we redeveloped and redesigned 40 websites in .NET using Kentico (CMS). Along with my digital leadership, I created quality print work for Franklin County Engineering, TheWater Quality Reports.

Project Management

ODEI

The last of the 40 websites I designed and managed for Franklin County was for The Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion (Office of County Commissioner).

Because this was a new branch of the Commissioners Office in Franklin County, I had many requirements and resources to gather, write, and interview representatives.

Website standards for accessibility and inclusive designs were strictly enforced. Collaboration and a collective group of representatives were involved. Together, we crafted the right message for Franklin County's constituents.

What people I worked with have to say!

"I have had the pleasure of working directly with Gina as a Marketing and web Designer at the Franklin County Data Center for the last several months, and her abilities in the UI/UX sphere have continually impressed me.

Gina has also been able to work quite effectively with other co-workers and has been a great asset to our team. Her outgoing optimism has made her a true joy to have in the office. Application developers, project managers, and business analysts a like have enjoyed collaborating with her on our projects."
